Tropicana Tivoli Hotel

This property is particularly suited to families and couples that are looking for a stay away from the main beach areas. Although there is a regular shuttle to Fanara Beach, accessed by a large number of steps, the swimming pool at Tropicana Tivoli forms the focal point for the whole property with a lively pool bar serving snacks and a simple buffet restaurant. All of the facilities are on a single level although there are some steps to encounter.

Exterior

The property has a long frontage off the quiet dual carriageway separated by single car depth parking along the width. At the gates there are a series of flagpoles and palms on the narrow stretch of grass and neatly mown lawn. The single-storey white frontage has large darkened windows more for appearance than views. The glass front entrance door is reached by 6 wide steps and this, in turn, leads in to the open area beyond.

Interior

The entrance doorway leads directly on to the open grounds with a reception hall located a few steps to the right housed in a cool, comfortably furnished area with a tidy black marbled check-in counter running the length at the rear. 2 separate rooms reached externally hold a small hairdresser and a Dive Centre. To the left of the front entrance is a bar styled on an English pub theme with heavy wood panelling, sturdy bar stools, TV and pool table. Next to this, with an entrance leading off the main area, is the Marrakesh Restaurant serving buffet meals. The white marbled floor gives a bright feel to the room with the only windows looking out over the car park to the front. The buffet area is setup along the right hand wall and the furnishings consist of small single pedestal square tables and wooden, cushioned chairs.

Grounds

The 114 bedrooms are located in five 2-storey white-painted blocks, 3 of which overlook the pool and all of which help enclose the hotel. A red brick paved walkway runs around the central area which, reached by 3 gentle steps, houses the main swimming pool and a smaller children's pool. There is a pool bar serving drinks and snacks and wooden sun-loungers, shaded by palm-frond parasols. Areas between the blocks of rooms are lawned and there are a few palm trees.

Area Type: The Tropicana Tivoli is situated on the rather un-inspiringly named City Council Street, a road, running north to south separating the Old Town and Ras Um Sid. On a row of 12 other establishments, this property sits between the Sunset Hotel and Ocean Club while directly opposite there is a small shopping mall and one of the resorts go-kart tracks. Both the Aqua Park and the entertainment complex of Alf Laila Wa Laila are within 2 km. There are public beaches at Maya Bay 2 km away and the main entertainment area of Na’ama Bay is 6 km to the north. Transfer time to Sharm el Sheikh Airport 15 minutes.
