A well appointed, well established and comfortable choice but which is looking a little worn in places. The vast multi-leveled grounds offer a good choice of pools although the many sloping paths and steps may be too steep for some. A full programme of activities is on offer and it will suit those seeking a self-contained beach break - the beach is better than most in the area.

An attractive white Arabic style main buillding with green trim and double height windows; long 2 storey white accommodation buildings with balconies or terraces are scattered on various levels around the grounds.

Interior

The white-walled interior is bright and airy, and includes a 2-storey atrium lobby dotted with greenery and an attractive bar beside groupings of cushioned sofas. The smart wood furnished buffet restaurant is to one side and has an outdoor terrace; a further dining area and lounge are on the 1st floor and there is a 24 hour European style coffee shop. A casual Italian a la carte is in the pool area and an informal seafood restaurant is beside the beach and enjoys fine sea views.

Grounds

Extensive well kept gardens feature neat lawns, colourful flowers and 2 waterfalls. The pools are on different levels; a quieter option is next to a cane-furnished terrace with a Bedouin tent and has an astroturfed surround with sunbeds and parasols and shady Arabic-style lounge areas. 2 livelier pools are edged with rock waterfalls and boast a waterslide and 2 bar/snack bars under wooden canopies. Steep steps reach a sandy beach backed by low rocky cliffs and which is crammed with loungers; a bar, jetty, watersports and a dive centre are on site.

Area Type: In Sharks Bay, close to the airport in an isolated beachside location with a few well spread out similar hotels in the vicinity but no shops, bars, restaurants etc.
