Sharm Holiday Resort

One of the older properties in the resort, it stands adjacent to the main road and has an uninspiring entrance area. It is true too that the reception lobby lacks ambience but is remedied by the large atrium that lies beyond housing a courtyard style dining environment.

The recently built new wing is particularly attractive with landscaped gardens around the 2nd pool. Suited to adults that want to be close to the nightlife but far enough away not to be bothered by it.

Exterior

Double height main building stands back from the road overlooking an expansive stretch of attractive gardens and comprising of lawns, neat hedges, shrubs and palm trees. A discrete gatehouse stands at the entrance with a short driveway leading up to the main set down area.

Front entrance is located beyond the circular glass fronted wing of the building and is covered by an integral porch covering the marble floored forecourt in front of the glass main doors. A few broad stairs lead up to the doors where potted plants adorn the entrance.

Interior

The lobby extends the width of the building and has polished marble effect flooring and light coloured walls. A zig-zag reception counter stands to one end with a black frontage and white backdrop. In a largely sparsely furnished area there are some deep cushioned wooden frames armchairs and sofas around glass topped tables.

The building opens up into an expansive two tier environment with souvenir shops and some lounge facilities on the upper-level. The glass ceiling sits at an angle conservatory style lighting up the marble floored lower-level which houses the main restaurants.

Wooden framed high backed chairs at the square tables create a piazza ambience. The Asian a la carte restaurant is situated on the high floor and has rounded back wooden chairs and tables.

Grounds

Grounds are split into two parts the first immediately behind reception is overlooked by the 2- storey high accommodation wings where the white facaded rooms have furnished terraces or balconies overlooking the pool deck.

This pool area is surrounded by artificial grass terracing and furnished with sunloungers and parasols. A health club is situated upstairs and has an indoor Jacuzzi, sauna and fitness room.

A modern wing located towards the rear has 2-storey wings of accommodation with a large swimming pool forming the centrepiece reached by stairs to the surrounding decking. A small children's playground and tennis courts stand by the pathway leading to the town.

Area Type: Adjacent to the main highway through Na’ama Bay at the SW end on an elevated position. Positioned on a plot between two roads, one heading to the cliff top and the other leading into the resort where the shops, restaurants and bars are within a 15-min walk. Transfer to Sharm el Sheikh Airport 20-mins.
