An overwhelmingly huge and rather brash self-contained all-inclusive operation which is a bit tasteless and tacky in parts but brimming with many facilities, although not really deserving of its 5 star rating. The grounds are so big that golf buggies are used to shuttle guests around; the sheer size might make it a bit impersonal for some and the bustling multi-national atmosphere is not for those seeking a quiet escape. The full entertainment programme makes it suitable for active families. Many steps around the property will be difficult for those with mobility problems. Has the odd noisy jet roaring above. Some timeshare accommodation. 66 villas with kitchens, some with private pools.

Interior

An enormous split-level lobby is dominated by ornamental fake rocks and has water features, plastic palms and a spacious lounge bar; massive windows look out to the sea. Steps lead down to a large, pleasant wood-coffee shop. A plethora of eating venues are on offer including 3 huge international buffets: Russian, Asian, Italian and seafood. Bars range from a casual Country & Western to a glittery piano & cocktail option.

Grounds

Vast, well-tended gardens have many tiered levels of paved paths and steps through fairly steep sloping grounds. An enormous pool boasts a section with a wave machine and a slide. A second pool is nearer the beach. A beach restaurant, outdoor pizzeria, Bedoiun shisha pipe area and pool bars are on offer for al fresco eating and drinking. Low sand cliffs drop directly to the sea and there are 3 small 'beaches' with sun terraces, matresses, wicker shades and a diving and aqua centre.

Area Type: Set in its own extensive grounds on the seaside in an isolated area of Shark Bay close to the airport. No shops, restaurants, etc, in the immediate vicinity except for those at well spread out neighbouring hotels.
