Being adjacent to the international convention centre, it should be expected that many delegates would choose to say at this property. Indeed, in 2008, during the African Union Conference, many of the continents heads of state were accommodated here perhaps best reflecting the quality that leisure travellers can expect. Certainly, the wellness-centre is Thai staffed and inspired and the dining options are varied with views out across the expansive grounds. Although most of the facilities are on the single pool-deck level, it should be noted that the rooms are some distance away although golf carts are available for shuttling around.

Interior

The reception area is furnished with a mixture of deep sofas and chairs and more traditional style wooden framed seats. The patterned marble-effect floor, white ceiling and wood panelled walls provide a relaxed ambience with a panoramic windows looking over the grounds.

The majority of the facilities are located within the extensive grounds that occupy a large area apparent from the terrace of the main building. Golf buggies operate throughout the complex which is a necessity as all 319 rooms are located in 18 bungalow-style detached blocks some way from the main facilities and surrounded by carefully manicured lawns. The 4000 sq m swimming pool deck forms an attractive focal point with an adequate supply of sturdy sun-loungers and parasols. The deck area is overlooked by a 2-storey high, glass-fronted block that houses many of the dining options including the Peninsula main buffet restaurant and an English style pub. A Thai restaurant offers an authentic ambience and is located next to the full-service Sabai Sabai Thai Spa and Health Club which has 10 massage rooms, sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy and Shiatsu Room.
