Cleopatra Tsokkos Hotel

With its large parking area to the front, this property is not particularly inspiring from the outside and the lobby lounge is bereft of something, perhaps rugs to the floor. The grounds and pool deck are, however, nicely designed which is important considering there are no facilities on the nearest beach. A suitable choice for those looking for a simple environment relatively close to the attractions.

Exterior

Like an oasis standing off the relatively quiet road, a 200m cobbled brick drive way leads through lawned gardens bordered by low hedges and palm trees to parking areas in front of the double height white facaded main building.

A series of steep steps lead up one level to the terraced forecourt in front of the glass fronted main entrance topped by a gently sloping tiled roof feature. Most of the rooms have balconies or terraces with wrought iron railings many with views inwards.

Interior

The single height lobby has a granite marble effect floor, ceiling supporting columns and a wooden fronted reception. There are clusters of wooden framed and cushioned regal style furnishings and potted shrubs.

A couple of arched doorways lead to a larger lounge area with soft seating and wide windows overlooking a terrace area. Another arch leads into the main restaurant which has sturdy wooden furnishings and views over the grounds.

The corridor to the side of reception contains a series of souvenir shops and a bank. On the lower ground-floor, reached by some stairs beyond the glass doors there is a fitness centre, a shisha lounge an enclosed area with pool table. There is also a disco bar with a curious protruding ceiling decoration of table and chairs.

Grounds

Situated in two-storey clusters surrounding the gardens which contain flowerbeds, shrubberies and trees. The swimming pool is L-shaped with a circular Jacuzzi and separate children's area. It is surrounded by a broad terrace furnished with mattressed sunloungers and cloth parasols.

A snack bar is situated to one side with outdoor bistro style furnishing covered by a wooden trellis like structure. Although the hotel does not have a beach, facilities are provided at a small charge at the public beach 1km away.

Area Type: Located off the relatively quiet dual carriageway that runs within a grid of roads leading to the Old Town, or Ras Um Sid, where restaurants and bars located reached within a 10-min taxi journey. Na’ama Bay with wider range of restaurants and bars also within 10-min taxi journey. Public beach reached within 10 min walk. Transfer to Sharm el Sheikh Airport 20-mins.
