Bay View Hotel

This is a diver’s haunt with a large dive-shop an integral part of the property. The facilities are limited but the pool deck can be quite peaceful if everyone is out all day exploring the reefs.

The bar is a popular rendezvous for like minded holidaymakers and has good views from the roof top terrace. This is suited to those looking for a base within a few minutes’ walk of the nightlife and, of course, the diving fraternity.

Exterior

Separated from the street by a wide parking area, this property is a serious of 2 and 3-storey blocks with white facades and blue trimmed rectangular windows. The ground-floor of the main block, closest to the street, has Moorish style arched windows.

The buildings are separated by a courtyard furnished with patio style chairs and cushioned inbuilt bench style sofas with the main entrance toward the rear of the 1st-block.

Interior

The spacious lobby has little natural light, polished grey patterned flooring and neutral coloured walls. Long wooden reception counter stands to one side in front of the spiral stairway with wrought iron railings. There are clusters of wicker framed deep cushioned armchairs and sofas, a snooker table and the lobby bar.

The restaurant is situated in the building opposite and has white and grey tiled flooring with panoramic windows across the surrounding streets and high backed wooden framed, cushioned chairs at predominantly square tables.

Upstairs is the main bar which has mainly wood effect decor, low stool seating at round tables and large television screens. Reached from external stairway is the roof terrace with a thatched roof bar and attractive patio style furnishings.

Grounds

The courtyard between reception and restaurant buildings is brick cobbled with some seating from which a passage leads beneath the 3-storey high white facaded accommodation blocks to the large swimming pool which is backed by a high stone wall.

The narrow terrace surround is furnished by wooden framed, mattressed sunloungers and fixed parasols. In front of the dive shop is a broad paved terrace housing the poor bar which has a thatched roof, long wooden servery and metal framed bistro style furnishings.
