Aqua Blu Resort

Enormous resort within a resort and the water park is an advertised local attraction appealing to hordes of outside visitors daily. Accommodation is mainly located away from the aqua park in a more peaceful environment and the main restaurants are attractively furnished and for in-house guests only on a choice of board basis. Suitable choice for families in particular and adult couples that may like to experience a different pool ambience on alternate days.

Exterior

The entrance to this property stands to one side of an elaborate turreted wall frontage in which numerous shops, restaurants and even English bar are located, many with seats spilling on to the wide pavement. In the centre, a fairy tale style arched entrance with stone clad walls is more generally the public entrance for the extensive aqua park within the grounds.

The main entrance is located to one side, a rather discreet and uninspiring position but once beyond the gatehouse and heading down the 500m drive through the grounds, the visual aspect changes. The main building is located within a centrally located turreted 2-storey complex with wide steps leading up to the portico covered entrance.

Interior

Single height lobby, sparsely furnished, stands at the centre of a horseshoe shaped wing of rooms with polished brown tiling floor and mainly neutral-coloured walls with a predominance of wood effect columns and a long sweeping wooden fronted reception counter.

Main restaurants are located away from the main pool areas adjacent to clusters of 2 and 3-storey high blocks of rooms which all have terraces and balconies. Oher dining venues are towards the entrance to the waterpark which have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Grounds

Extensive grounds with the rooms mainly situated towards the NE end and surrounded by attractive lawn gardens interspersed by trees and shrubberies. The main focal point of the resort are the pools and lagoons providing a variety of experiences. Traditional pools surrounded by broad terraces and furnished with sunloungers and parasols as well as children's pools.

In the centre is a food court serving a variety of fast foods on a wide terrace seating area surrounded by a rafting river. The wave pool is located towards some of the water slide complexes while others are located closer to the public entrance.

Throughout the grounds are pathways winding their way through the grasslands with many wooden arched bridges crossing the lagoons and passing other features such as the children's playground. A further wing of rooms running across the main entertainment area has 2-floors with terraces and balconies.

Location

Area Type: Situated in Om El Sid 500m from the bay front of the Old Town to the W of the resort. An integral part of the property, there is a row of shops, restaurants and an English pub lining the street at the front with the larger Marcado Mall located behind, 15-min walk. Taxi to Na’ama Bay with its wide range of dining and drinking venues takes 20-mins. Transfer to Sharm el Sheikh Airport 20-mins.
