An authentic style property to some and a health & safety issue to others with a variety of farm and antique implements and a mixture of traditional and, frankly, garish decor – the epitome of Marmite, either loving it or hating it. Choice of board basis and, although some distance from the beach, good size swimming pool.

Exterior

Palm trees line the lawned borders in front of this property separating it from the quiet street. Beyond the low stone walled gardens is a wide forecourt upon which restaurant and bar seats spill out. A few souvenir style shops are integral to the property.

A stately horse-drawn carriage stands at the single height, domed top main entrance which is covered by a wooden almost scaffold like portico. Pointed arched windows and doors in the brick coloured facade are trimmed with dark wood trim.

Interior

The solid wooden door opens on to a traditional circular shaped lobby based on the traditional brick domed architecture. The area is lit by a series of mosaic, arched windows and a sturdy wooden counter stands to one side.

The furnishings here are a mixture of garden bench style seating around glass topped tables, shrubs standing in tall clay vases and an array, around the edges, of curiosities such as antique typewriters, tools, instruments and garden implements.

A broad stairway leads down to the lower level where a covered terrace, furnished with low backed wooden chairs and square tables, leads to the main restaurant located behind wooden doors.

Grounds

Situated in a staggered series of two and three-storey white facaded wings surrounding the pool deck. The rooms have a variety of either balconies, arched terraces or simple windows with wooden shutters and are reached by a range of passages, stairways and open corridors.

Overlooking the pool, there's a second restaurant with garish artificial cave type decor curiously painted silver. There's also an adjacent bar with outdoor seating. Also on this level is a small spa facility which has curtained massage rooms and a small indoor pool with rock formations.

Towards the rear of the property there is an open lawn surrounded by hedges with miniature replicas of some sites in Upper Egypt. There is also an advertised small zoo.
