Exterior

The entrance stands off the main road heading south from the city and is marked by a large hoarding at the start of a private drive. This continues 1.5km through attractive scenery, over a short bridge onto the island and past the taxi rank to the circular set-down area in front of the main reception building. Surrounded by neatly maintained gardens and climbing plants, a long portico extends the width of the glass-fronted main entrance.

Interior

A single-storey lobby is attractively furnished with wooden framed upholstered chairs and deep cushioned sofas standing on ornate rugs on an otherwise mainly wooden floor.

A semi-circular reception counter and small boutique are situated to one side with decorative brass plant pots holding shrubs.The main bar, with long wooden servery, is accessed from the lobby and floor-to-ceiling glass separates the main restaurant which has an entrance from the grounds.

The other main dining venue, the seafood restaurant, is located in a detached building adjacent to the lobby and next to the conference centre linked by a short path.

Grounds

Extensive grounds that border the Nile. A large terrace, fronting the restaurants, furnished with patio-style chairs and tables is separated from the first swimming pool by a neat hedge.

The pool, surrounded by a wide terrace with sunloungers and parasols, overlooks a felucca dock area and sunset viewing point. A path winds through the neat lawned gardens, past children's play area, to the much larger infinity pool which also has separate children's pool with climbing frame. Sunloungers and parasols are provided here as well as bistro seating on terraces in front of a snack and drinks bar.

The rooms are situated throughout the grounds in cottage-style hexagonal, single-storey detached blocks with wide areas of lawns and gardens between.

Area Type: Situated to the south of the city on Kings Island, also known as Crocodile Island, its own extensive grounds off the east bank of the river. A self-contained resort, the nearest shopping is in the city reached by taxi or hotel shuttle bus with journey time of 10 mins. Transfer to Luxor Airport 20 mins.
