This fully-contained complex has a wide range of facilities that appeal to families and couples alike. One of the pools is classed an activity area with lively entertainment while the other main pool is reserved for quiet relaxation. Most of the facilities are on a single level with ramps and steps where necessary but it should be noted that, as it stretches 800m to the shoreline, occupants of rooms by the beach will have a long walk to the buffet restaurant. The word 'Select' is included in the name of the property to indicate a wider range of all-inclusive facilities including dining options next door.

Interior

The main building consists of 2 floors of which the upper form the reception area with highly-polished marble-effect white flooring and oriental décor. Here there is a lobby bar with a curved counter, high bar-stools and decorative Arabic-style sturdy wooden furniture. To one side is an English Pub with dark wood panelling, red-leather buttoned bar top, heavy wooden floors and black and white murals of London street scenes in the rain! On the lower floor, the large main buffet restaurant has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the gardens. The wooden, cushioned furnishings are well spaced out away from the huge servery areas including a hexagonal live cooking area in the centre. A games room with pool tables is also located here and a 2-storey health-centre is positioned between the main buildings of here and the Mamlouk Palace next door.

Grounds

In the grounds, there is a large amphitheatre and children's play area with climbing frame close to the main building. The 422 rooms are located in 3-storey terracotta and white-coloured turreted blocks in 3 rows running down to the beach. Between the first 2 blocks is a large freeform pool area which is reserved for activities while a quieter pool is positioned between the 2nd and 3rd row. Both areas are attractively landscaped with neat lawns and shrubs and there are ample upholstered plastic sun-loungers and parasols. Towards the beach on the Mamlouk Palace side is the attractive detached Asian a-la-carte restaurant with seating inside and on the terrace. The wide, sandy beach is furnished with neat rows of sun-loungers, palm-frond parasols and wicker windbreaks.

Area Type: The Sunrise Garden Beach Resort is situated in extensive grounds stretching from the Sahl Hasheeh Highway to the beach 22 km from the centre of Hurghada. It borders to the north the Sunrise Mamlouk Palace and, to the south, the Dana Beach Resort. Opposite the property stands the Sunrise Mall with a variety of modern bazaar style boutiques which more traditional shops can be visited in the Old Town reached by a shuttle service where a small charge applies. Transfer time to Hurghada Airport 15 minutes.
