Hilton Long Beach Resort
Opinion
This complex could, in reality, be described as 2 different resorts with the main focus being on the wings built to encompass the central entertainment and pool-deck and a 2nd area, towards the side of the extensive grounds, offering quieter cluster-style rooms. There is something to appeal to everyone with various activities taking place throughout the day and evening.
Exterior
The entrance to the property is marked by a double wing of bazaar style shops on either side of the gatehouse beyond which a short drive passes, on the left, the family block of rooms, small pool and mini-golf and, on the right, clusters of rooms. The high single-storey main entrance is surrounded by tidy lawn gardens with flower beds and shrubberies.
Property type: Hotel
Built Year: 1998
Interior
The large, colonnaded, circular foyer is topped with a mosaic domed roof and has a busy ambience. White marble-effect floors are furnished with clusters of soft stools, chairs and sofas and there is a lobby bar to towards the rear. Leading off from the main reception area is the Al Dente buffet restaurant which has sturdy furnishings and a long servery. On the ground floor of the main building, reached by a broad stairway, is the main Lotus buffet restaurant which has floor to ceiling windows looking over the pool area. On the north side, a 3-storey wing of rooms reaches down towards the beach while, on the south side, a shorter wing protrudes.
Rooms: 912
Grounds
In the grounds, the remainder of the 912 rooms are located in 18 clusters to the south of the property between the road and the beach. In this area, there are 3 small pools and a shuttle service operates to bring guests to main areas. The central entertainment area is located between the 2 wings of the main building with 3 separate swimming pools joined by a lazy-river feature crossed by bridges and walkways. There is an ample supply of sun-loungers and fixed palm-frond parasols and the area is surrounded by attractive gardens with flower beds, shrubs and trees. The long, wide and sandy beach is served by a bar serving snacks and drinks and has neat rows of sun-loungers, parasols and wind-breaks. The Marahaba oriental restaurant is located by the beach.
