This property is attractively positioned opposite it's beachfront sister establishment, the Grand Hotel with the forecourt area of both merging over a red-brick cobbled road with a mall of shops and park-like gardens. A small front entrance door leads in to an atmospheric grand foyer which, in turns leads, on to 2 swimming pool decks. The property does have a choice of restaurants and offers non-all-inclusive packages. Most of the rooms are inward facing but rooms in the back blocks also face outwards overlooking the main highway and, beyond that, the airport.

Exterior

From the red-brick cobble of the main street, a barrier marks the entrance to this 2-storey property which is fronted by an extensive park-like garden with fountains, flowerbeds, shrubs and palms. The set-down area is in front of a Moorish-style colonnaded entrance with arched doorways. Set forward to this area is a terrace, both sides, called the Grand Mall where there is a coffee shop, disco, shops and a-la-carte restaurants.

Interior

The colonnaded Moorish arches continue in to the large foyer hall which has a centre-piece fountain to the fore and marble-effect black and white squared floors. A small canopied check-in area is tucked away in one corner leaving an eye-level view throughout the rest of the area including plenty of soft seating clusters, a lobby bar and enclosed terrace area.

Grounds

The grounds beyond are enclosed by 5-storey blocks containing the 828 rooms with a ‘figure m’ layout, creating 2 distinct areas to the complex. The large freeform Oasis swimming pool in one section is overlooked by the Nigma oriental a-la-carte and one of the main buffet restaurants, both offering indoor and terrace dining creating a piazza ambience, Although there are small patches of garden and palms here, the northern wing has more greenery with 2 smaller pools and a separate children's pools. A sports corner offers table games and an open-air massage centre is tucked away behind the waterfront cafe. Other dining venues here include the Marhaba seafood a-la-carte with terrace seating and the 2nd buffet restaurant which, with large glass frontage, appears to jut out over the Mediterranean Pool. Around all the pools, there is adequate sun-lounger and parasol provision and beach facilities can be found in front of the Grand Hotel opposite.

Area Type: The Grand Resort enjoys a prime position on Corniche Road in central Hurghada. The road between this and it’s beachfront sister property, the Grand Hotel, is attractively cobbled and paved with a footbridge connecting both - enabling easy access to the shared beach facilities. The Corniche (Sheraton) Road has a number of shopping facilities and continues in to the centre of the resort. Transfer time to Hurghada Airport 15 minutes.
