Ali Baba Palace
Opinion
The Ali Baba Palace is the 3rd of a group of sister properties situated in a row along the stretch of beach and is promoted as their top category property. It has attractive gardens laid to lawn with sculptured shrubs and tidy walkways leading from reception, past the pool-deck and to a broad stretch of beach. It has a quiet ambience with most facilities accessible on a single level.
Exterior
Trees and shrubs line the short drive down from the main road to a single-storey, double-height main entrance with a large glass frontage. A 3-lane wide portico covers the brick-cobbled set-down area curiously marked with traffic direction arrows.
Property type: Hotel
Built Year: 1998
Interior
The foyer is enormous with white marble-effect flooring and a patterned ceiling topped by a splendid glass-mosaic dome supported by pillars draped with greenery. In the middle, a sunken area of comfortable armchairs and sofas is complimented elsewhere by clusters of more authentic furnishings. The lobby bar towards the back has cafe style wicker seating and, beyond that, the Haramy Bar, furnished with deep soft chairs, a wood panel bar and soft lighting. The main buffet restaurant, reached from the foyer, has a long servery and is brightly lit with comfortable wooden upholstered furniture.

Grounds
The grounds are surrounded by the 2 and 3-storey terracotta-coloured Moorish-style blocks with tiled balconies housing 654 rooms some of which help create an attractive tree-lined promenade down to the beach. The sandy beach is wide and is furnished by neat rows of sun-loungers, parasols and wicker wind-breaks. There is a large beach bar serving snacks and drinks. In the main body of the grounds, there is a swimming pool deck including a lazy-river feature. Here there is a central island-style pool bar and, behind, a childrens payground.
