Opinion

A boutique-style property benefitting from its downtown location, attractive landscaping and architectural style. There is a small beach but most people take the ferry to the island beach which has full serviced facilities. This is suited to adults because of its proximity to the restaurants and bars.

Exterior

In keeping with the architectural style of Downtown, the double height terracotta coloured, dome-roofed main building stands off a cobbled set down area in the middle of which is a tidy lawned garden with flower beds.

2 large arch topped windows look outwards with a draped trellis like structure marking the entrance to one side. A series of curved steps lead up to the front door which is set within an arch.

Interior

The high ceilinged lobby incorporates traditional Moorish-style design with white and terracotta-coloured walls and pointed arches over patterned marble flooring. The reception desk faces the door with the bar located to one end.

A set of stairs leads up to the spacious restaurant which has comfortable wooden framed and upholstered seating. The adjacent lounge has upholstered bench seating and lattice style narrow windows.

An a-la-carte restaurant is situated opposite the main entrance in a separate building.

Grounds

2 and 3-storey buildings clustered around the edge of the lagoon separated by a well tended strip of lawn and flower beds. Their design creates some small courtyards, attractively styled with water features and clay urns holding shrubs.

The pool is the main focus and has a wide terrace accommodating sunloungers and parasols with a few steps leading on to the lagoon promenade where further beach furnishings are provided close to the second bar and snack service area.

Area Type: Situated on the lagoon island which forms Downtown of the propose built resort, this property stands on the south eastern corner only 5 mins walk from the piazza of restaurants, bars and shopping arcade. It is close to the shuttle boat jetty and a shuttle bus and tuk-tuks operate to the beaches to the north east. Transfer to Hurghada Airport 30 mins.
