Opinion

This property has a stately ambience with nicely furnished public areas and plenty of outside dining space at 2 of it's restaurants. The spa facility and riding school both have an appeal to the leisure traveller. Suited to couples and families with a small childrens pool and play area. A quiet environment away from the frenetic city centre.

Exterior

A long driveway winds its way around the high walls to this property and on to a central forecourt adjacent to the equestrian centre and modern-design free-standing coffee shop. The facade of the 5-storey building resembles a central European street scene with neat patio-door windows to each French balconied room on the upper floors and tidy awnings over the ground floor windows. There are neatly tended lawns adorned with flower beds and palm trees.

Interior

The expansive lobby has white marbled floors, a central iron balustraded stairway, large windows overlooking the grounds and a colonnaded feature within which stand the discrete reception counter and boutiques. Much of the area is comfortably furnished with deep cushioned armchairs and sofas with the lobby bar located to one end. The U-shaped building houses the main restaurant to one extremity which is stylishly furnished with seating spreading on to the terrace. At the opposite end is a sushi restaurant and Italian a-la-carte, the latter with a terraced area. The spa facility with sauna, steamroom, massage beds and fitness room is housed on the ground floor also and has a small indoor dip pool.

Grounds

The grounds are overlooked by the French-balconied rooms on the upper 4 floors of the 3 wings of accommodation. A half oval swimming pool is surrounded by neat lawns, low shrub hedges and rows of elegant white trunked palms. Tables and chairs on the lawn provide the seating for a snack bar while sunloungers and parasols are provided on the pool surrounds. Towards the rear there is a separate childrens pool and play area. Other facilities are located towards the front of the property including a row of bazaar type shops and a large glass fronted coffee shop with internal and external seating. The equestrian facilities for which the property is famed are located beyond this.
