Quseir
The town stands on the Red Sea coast, S of Safaga and N of Marsa Alam, and has a boundary stretching 30km either side encompassing long stretches of desert backed beaches. This small town has mainly low rise buildings along 2 streets forming the coastal highway, the inland one heading S through a small shopping and restaurant area, the sea side one winding its way N past traditional fishermen’s cottages.
The architecture is interesting and there are places for a drink or even something to eat but, otherwise, there is not a lot on offer. The resorts labelled as being El Quseir are either situated within 7 km N or sparsely located off the highway heading S.
There is a threat of terrorism in Egypt; Foreign Office advisory notices offer the latest advice and should be consulted before booking.
