Cairo
Cairo hosts the wondrous pyramids, so it is well worth visiting. However be aware that it is a very dirty city, and you will find many beggars there, including children. The pyramids are breathtaking and from many of the hotels you can see them from the windows. I would advise that you don't get on a camel, as there is a large price to get back off! There is also a light show that takes place at night, which explains the history of the pyramids. It is very interesting so it is worth daring the hazardous motorways. Be prepared to barter and get a lot of attention, especially at the pyramids! There are also markets and museums in Cairo, which are fascinating even for people who are not interested in history.
